Root Raking for a Future Mobile Home Site
A densely wooded quarter-acre lot needed to be cleared before the property owner could move forward with placing a mobile home. Over three days, Dusty Roads removed eight trees, root raked the entire area, staged the debris for collection, and smoothed the cleared ground.
The Starting Condition
The approximately quarter-acre lot was densely wooded, leaving no open area for the property owner’s planned mobile home. Preparing the site required more than cutting surface vegetation. The trees, stumps, and major root systems within the selected area also needed to be removed.
Before work began, dense trees, palmettos, vines, and underbrush occupied the planned mobile-home site.
The Work Performed
Dusty Roads completed the project over three days using a John Deere 333P compact track loader.
Eight trees were removed from the selected area. The root rake was then used across the approximately quarter-acre site to remove stumps, roots, palmettos, and other woody material from the ground.
The removed material was gathered and placed near the road so a separate grapple-truck service could collect it. After the root-raking work was complete, the root rake was exchanged for the loader bucket and the disturbed ground was smoothed.
During the project, removed trees, stumps, roots, and woody debris were gathered near the road for grapple-truck collection.
The completed homesite after root raking and smoothing with the loader bucket.
The Final Result
The wooded quarter-acre area became clean, open ground with room for the property owner’s planned mobile home. After the roots and woody material were removed, the loader bucket was used to smooth the disturbed surface.
The completed site was left close to final grade and ready for the customer’s next phase of construction. As with any root-raking project, this does not guarantee that every small root or unseen object beneath the working depth has been removed.
